"Somebody trying to scare us?"
That was the quote from British Prime Minister Tony Blair today as the bombs rocked the subways there. Its amazing really. The world we live in today. All that has happened, within my own life time. I was there in OKC the day of the Oklahoma City Bombing. I was appart of, just like all Americans, the fall of the Twin Towers, and now we see our friends getting blown up, and for what? Because some idiot someplace thinks that he knows better and that we need to be taught a lesson. Well, if Britain takes the lesson half as well as we did, then all that will be taught is how to be stronger. I don't know about you, but I can promise you, if anyone other than Bush would have taken the office back in 2000, we wouldn't be here as we are today. I know that everyone hasn't agreed with his policies, or that we even went to war, but its the resolve that he has that keeps this country strong. Its his resolve that he showed on TV right after the twin towers fell, its his resolve that makes this country strong. Just as Prime Minister Blair's own resolve helps to strengthen his people. Its the resolve of our leaders that guide the people. If they don't show backbone, if they don't show strength (and I'm not talking military power either), if they don't show resolve to take this and move on, then what will we have. I was listening to Paul Harvey this afternoon when I heard that quote, and the thought that Paul put with it. That Tony sounded a lot like Winston Churchill right at the moment he said that. Churchill was a leader now. A man who stood up and laughed when half of his country was in flames from the bombings, and man who knew that they could, and would win. What am I trying to say, you know I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with that we as a people are strong, and that its helps our resolve when we have leaders that show theirs, or maybe its that what we see is what we do. All in all what I'm trying to say is, our leaders make a difference, and to see them laugh at whats been done so as to mock our enemies, is just plain cool. "Somebody trying to scare us?" I don't think so.
