Geek Time again.....


I write this now with a preoccupied mind. For you see I am thinking of what other cool things I can do with it. I mean I play with it now all the time, but I just love to find those far out uses. Oh, yeah, before you get your mind totally in the gutter, I won a new iPaq. Pervert! I got the fine opportunity to go to a trade show put on by our phone system vendor last week, and hot digity dog, if the first prize handed out wasn't a iPaq hx2415, and I won it. This thing rocks! Bluetooth, 802.11b, 128mb of built in, beautiful screen, and it can read both cf and SD cards at the same time. I have to say, this is my favorite little piece of tech eva! I would have never in a million years bought one for myself. Lets face it, there is no reason to. I have found some practical use for it, I have all my contacts from here at work, my appointments, and I even keep some of our critical IT stuff on it, but there is little purpose beyond that other than games. Oh and the games I have found. The best for me though is the emulation. I have perfect NES emulator, and have been enjoying some old school goodness. Nothing like laying in bed, curled up with some Zelda while the wife sleeps away. That way she can't complain that I never stay in there with her now. Its great. But again, I would like to find some other things to do with it. I have seen the ultimate universal remote programs and those are alright, but they work to slow. And one thing that really burns my biscuit is the lack of good GBA and SNES emulation. I have a decent GBA emulator, but it doesn't do sound. And I tried the SNES, but that was way too slow to mess with. Awe well, it will get better, I hope. If anyone out there knows of better a better emulator, let me know will ya. Things to think about...

Weird day! I don't know why, but its weird. From the moment I woke up I knew that today would be odd. So far nothing has really said that, but I just feel weird. On my iGoogle page I subscribe to the Hack-A-Day widget, and love it. Most of the hacks are a little much for my liking. So that is to say, they take a chunk out of you day to make happen, depending on the project. But a few days ago is so simple, its sick. Its a multi-tool, or thats what the creator calls it. Ah yes. The words heard round the walls of my mind as the Lord's voice calls. Don't ever think that God doesn't have a sense of humor, because you would be wrong. Why is it that people seem so hell bent on doing it themselves? Why do we want to rely on our own powers so much? I ask myself this question because I realize that I do it more often then not. And the answer is, because its our nature as humans. Thats part of the fall I guess.
